Determine the time between events
To calculate the time duration between two events, you need to enter the start and end dates
and specify the hours and minutes for both. The order in which you fill in the date and time fields doesn’t matter.
What’s important is the logical sequence — the start date must be earlier than the end date,
otherwise the time values will be negative.
The tool operates in two modes, which are switched using the checkbox “Separate time calculation.”
- In the first mode (when the checkbox is off), the “hours” and “minutes” fields represent a combined duration. For example, a period of one day and ten minutes will be displayed as 24 hours, 10 minutes, and 0 seconds .
-
In the second mode (when the checkbox is on),
each unit of time is calculated separately. Using the same example, 24 hours and 10 minutes will be shown as follows:
- Hours: 24 hours
- Minutes: 1,450 minutes
- Seconds: 87,000 seconds
